Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College

We welcome you to the Kentucky Coal Academy at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKCTC) one of the state s oldest mine training programs. We recently moved to Harlan and primarily serve residents of Bell, Clay, Harlan, Knox, Letcher and Whitley counties.

We remain excited about working in partnership with industry leaders to train highly skilled, safe and knowledgeable miners who are aware of and can cope with health, safety and production hazards inherent in the mining process.

Our outdoor Mine Training Facility, equipped with on-site classrooms, allows individuals the opportunity to participate in simulated smoke and fire rescue training activities.
